Adventures in Odyssey celebrates its 1,000th episode

Katie Leigh, the voice of the Youth

“Adventures in Odyssey” is a beloved audio drama series aimed at children aged 8 to 12, making it a favourite for families. The show promotes the idea that storytelling can be a powerful tool for kids to strengthen their faith, understand biblical principles, and connect with Jesus in an enjoyable and engaging way.

In 1977, Focus on the Family was launched as a ministry, offering marriage and parenting advice through the airwaves.  From this foundation, “Adventures in Odyssey” was created, providing a high-quality, positive alternative to mainstream entertainment. The first episode aired on November 21, 1987. Fast forward to today, and nearly 1,000 twenty-five-minute episodes have been produced.

In celebration of this significant milestone, Hollie Taylor, host of Good Company, sat down with voice actor Katie Leigh, the voice of Connie Kendall in “Adventures in Odyssey.” They discuss the show’s lasting legacy after recently celebrating their 1,000th episode, the impact the programming has had on the youth and share a touching moment she had with a young listener who was suffering from cancer.
